Meet Robbie

Founder of Omala Meditation

ROBBIE PATERSON

Robbie is a certified Meditation Teacher who completed his teacher training with Charlie Knoles & Liddy Arens from The Veda Center, Bali, Indonesia.

Robbie is currently based in Asia, where he teaches in person, as well as online for his students around the globe. He has a niche passion for human consciousness and teaching, and wants to share ancient Vedic Wisdom with modern the day world.

Robbie’s goal is to inspire individuals to learn meditation to enable them to live out their best life, whilst taking care of their mental health - so they can make a real difference in the world.

He believes that by making a positive impact on an individuals life, it will not only impact their life, but everyone influenced by that person throughout their entire life time. One by one, smile after smile, making the deep and blissful ocean of Consciousness rise.

Robbie is the founder of Omala Meditation, a community and team dedicated to shining their light unto the world and making it a better & more peaceful & blissful place.

We are all living in such an interesting point of time within our species’ existence. Life keeps changing generation after generation and the modern day world is extremely fast paced and dominated by technology, social media and the human ego.

We have been culturally and societally conditioned to have certain - rigid - thought patterns, behaviors, beliefs, and takes on what life is about and how we should spend our time.

Regardless of where you are, who you are, what you believe in, who you spend your time with, what you do for a living, meditation can simply enhance your life and put you on the path to being the truest version of you.

Teacher Ethics & Student Guidelines

all about love, kindness and compassion

‘‘Be kind whenever possible. It is always possible.’’

- Dalai Lama

At Omala we follow a code of ethics and student guidelines to foster a community where we treat each other with respect, kindness, compassion and love. It just so happens these foundational behaviors are those we foster and learn in meditation itself.

This code exists to ensure that everyone in the community, whether it be students, teachers, or practitioners, are aware of the responsibilities we hold for each other so that we can craft an open, comfortable and safe space for everyone to learn and grow into the truest version of themselves.

Teacher Code of Ethics

Integrity of Teaching

  • In every moment, we are committed to being open, self-aware, and humble about the limitations of our experience and knowledge

  • Acknowledging that we are human beings with personalities and limitations, regardless of our experiences as meditators and teachers

  • To only make realistic statements when speaking of what we teach, regarding our practices, courses and knowledge we share in the meditative lifestyle

  • We respect and are open to any complaints made by a student or if they express any concerns, we will take all necessary action to resolve any conflict that may arise

  • We respect and acknowledge the incredible importance and power of all meditation styles & their techniques, and respect all other teachers and practices. We are collaborative with other teachers, practitioners and students to ensure students have the best experience possible

  • We are accountable for each other and are open to feedback for further growth. We encourage feedback on the teachings, our methods and behavior, and take the feedback seriously and action it where necessary. Always feel free to reach out at: meditate.omala@gmail.com

Teacher & Student Relationship - Working Together

  • We respect diversity and all students life experiences - regardless of gender, ethnicity, age, sexual preferences, physical ability, religious or political affiliation

  • We will ensure there is no harassment or exploitation between teacher and student

  • We do not abuse the trust of students to obtain sexual gratification, free labor, money or any other personal benefits and will at all times honor the teacher-student sexual boundaries

  • We as teachers aim to foster self-sufficiency, empowerment, emotional maturity and autonomy within our students. We do not condone practices that could create student-teacher dependency

  • We are aware of boundaries and our limitations as meditation teachers, and will not give counsel in matters outside of our areas of expertise and training. We will make appropriate referrals as needed

  • We will be guided by compassion, respect and kindness in our communication with students

  • We will be considerate of all emotional, physical and mental needs of our students

Confidentiality

  • All information provided by our students in our courses and classes, group meditations and other events will be treated as confidential

  • We respect all students rights to share their unique story and experience and for it to be kept private; to allow a comfortable and psychologically safe space

  • We will not share any personal information of our students without consent

A Safe Space

  • We welcome all members of the community with open arms and hearts, and we seek to create a safe space that is inclusive and allows us to transform and grow to our full potential

  • Students are to mutually understand that teachers and students alike are human beings with their own unique personalities and that we are always subject to growth, both professionally and personally

  • We deeply respect and acknowledge all traditions, and would ask that our students follow this philosophy. Students should refrain from criticizing, rejecting or dismissing other teachers or traditions

  • We encourage our students to avoid ‘experience envy’ and to acknowledge and understand that each individual is on their own personal journey and where they are and what they experience is perfect for them at that point in time. Students are asked to refrain from condemning or judging different experiences from our students or teachers and show respect

We look forward to Meditating with you.

‘‘Life is the dancer, and you are the dance’’

- Eckhart Tolle
